A-Train

Contracting party to Arlandabanan Infrastructure AB’s for Arlandabanan. A-Train operates the high-speed Arlanda Express shuttle from Stockholm Central Station to Arlanda Airport with 4–6 departures per hour. A-Train also manages the Arlandabanan infrastructure and grants rail access and capacity distribution and sets fees for the rail system.

Jernhusen

Owns and manages Stockholm Central Station and leases land for Arlanda Express’ station at Stockholm Central Station.

Riksgälden

The Swedish National Debt Office. Has lent SEK 1 billion to A-Train. This loan is being repaid as a share of profits (royalty).

Swedavia

Operates Arlanda Airport and grants land-use within the airport area for the Arlandabanan rail and stations.

Trafikverket

The Swedish Transport Administration. Manages operations on the state-owned rail network. The agency grants the use by A-Train of the rail between Stockholm Central Station and Rosersberg for its Arlanda Express service and land for the Arlandabanan railway between Rosersberg and the airport as well as between the airport and Odensala.

Agreement structure

The agreement structure, managed by AIAB, is explained in this overview, which also shows A-Train’s interrelation to the Swedish National Debt Office, lenders and lessors. Through agreements with AIAB, the Swedish Transport Administration, Swedavia and Jernhusen are responsible for the land utilisation and traffic rights that are subsequently awarded to A-Train by AIAB.
